Anyone else like USMC MARPAT?
Kryptek highlander is still my favorite. This would look awesome as a tarp.

A common theme seems to be camo and I totally agree. I may have some exciting news on that in the next couple days, so stay tuned . What do you guys think of a white or Alpine type camo? e.g. White, black, gray, etc
I suspect white is a highly seasonal color along with alpine camo, which alpine camo totally gets my vote.
If I were to guess I would have agreed that "White" would be seasonal. However, I purchased the white in the Summer, my main purpose was to have something bright to wake up to. For some reason since I started Hanging, I dislike feeling enclosed. First it was my Hennessy Explorer was too confining, I thought getting rid of the net would solve the problem, it did not. Then I switched to a smaller hammock, that helped with the feeling of being too enclosed, at least I could see something out of it!.
Next, I decided I needed a lighter color of tarp. When in the States I live in an area that is grey a lot, it really bothers me. I grew up in the Northwest, however, coming back is not so great, readjusting to the grey is not working. My white tarp helps with the grey blahs. I also like how it kind of glows, translucent, I just like the way it looks. For me it is not a Winter choice, it is a help my brain feel happy to get up on a grey morning.
Maybe white is a way for me to combat depression from the grey, here in the Northwest? I love being where it is green year around, however, the majority of people wear blend in colors, so for me I need something different. Soft muted or bright and sunny, right now those hues get my vote. I would like to see what the Alpine Camo looks like. I think even though I am not a Camo person, I might like that combination. My permanent home is in Northern B.C. where we normally have snow 9 or 10 months out of the year.
You the MAN, Kyle. If you can get a matched set of true multicam fabrics that adapt to different light and environmental conditions the would be THE ticket to hours of peaceful wildlife viewing in the wilderness. Also fewer hikers will mess with my off river/trail camp while i am fishing or hunting. But why do i even attempt to "sell" this lifestyle to those who prefer the warm showers of state, private, Fed parks, and all their noise pollution?
Now i just need to sell my sweet lovely wife of 2 decades the idea that i NEED more camping gear, wish me luck.
i'm in for marpat. best colour ever for my area
After speaking with Ben at Duro textiles this week, it's my opinion that Multicam is really a no go. To start, Duro has an exclusive license to print and manufacture fabrics with Multicam patterns. So that means everything runs through Duro. The second thing is that Duro's interests and fabric line is driven heavily by the needs of the military. Even though there are a lot of people in the camping community that want to see multicam offered on suitable fabrics, me being one, Duro isn't in any hurry to invest time/money in something that leads them away from their bread and butter.
Couple those things with a 5000 yd MOQ and the multicam wagon comes to a screeching halt unfortunately. Ben did say that he's working on trying to get a lighter weight coated fabric with multicam given the number of inquiries he's gotten. Still an on going project though, so no real timetable on when the product would be ready. I wouldn't expect it to be cheap either.
