    Question about "thermarest" type pads..

Since we "hangers" dont user these on the ground and only use the for insulation, how critical is it when or if the Thermarest gets a puncture? Do you fix it or just leave it as is?

I always leave the valve wide open, so it would not have impact on me.

Thats good news... So evens if I would get a puncture it's not a problem..
I'm off to buy one right now acctually and then I have all gear I need..

Some things need to be updated but now I have everything to spend a night in the woods.

    So this weekend I'm off...

I have a thermarest "camper" pad that I purchased in 1990 and have used it 30+ nights a year since, and it is still going strong. One of the keys to preventing punctures is to not lay them on open ground. When hanging this is not an issue, however, I have seen folks throw them on the ground to roll them up, and that is what seems to be their demise. I always roll mine on my waterproof bag or a tarp.
