La Laz Trail New Mexico 2.16.14

Hello, figures I would put up some info on a day hike/hang I did while here in Albuquerque. I decided to get out and hike part way up the Sandia mountain the other day. I wasn't going to do an overnight for 2 reason 1) High traffic 2) not much for accessible water. It was a beautiful day, mid 60's and I got a late start at about noon. I hiked up 3 miles (I guess at mile 5 you have to turn back unless you have ice cleats) hung for about an hour and headed back. On the way up I met a forest ranger and get this, his name was David Hammack HAHA perfect right???? He gave me some great info and was a really nice guy. THe scenery was a lot different than what I'm used to in Wisconsin and the temps were much more tolerable. Hope you guys enjoy the pics.

Looks like a great way to spend the day. Nice view from the hammock.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

Awesome, this made me chuckle hard.

Nice pics I would love to be able to get in a few hikes in other areas than the East Coast.
