    Cuben UQP?

I hear alot about UQP but I dont hear anyone talking about a cuben UQP. I was wondering is this because of cost or lack of breathablity?

Check out Sgt. rock's dirigible. it's a little bit more elaborate than a stock and made out of waterproof breathable cf, which is twice as expensive and heavy.

I would recommend going for something windproof and perhaps water resistant, like ultralight argon, pertex quantum, or m50.

Have not used a non-breathable one but they are available from 2QZQ, Warbonnet and Hennessy. If I shooting for a non-double use, non breathable, I would consider making one out of polycro http://gossamergear.com/shelters/she...th-medium.html at 1.6 oz

I don't know, Gossamer Gear sells them as ground cloths so they can't be too fragile. As an underquilt protector wouldn't need to be too tough, main enemy would be sticker bushes under the hammock. Inexpensive and you don't need to sew, use tape. I think some on Backpacking Light tried to use as tarp but don't recall whether they were successful.
