Solo trips

1. Most day hikes I'll hike alone with my dogs.
2. Backpack trips with hubby, we hike together.
3. Backpack trips with others, I like to hike alone at my own pace and meet up with everyone at the campsite.

I've always wanted to do a solo backpack trip, but my husband won't have any of that. I think it scares him more than it does me to send me off in the wilderness alone. So I respect his feelings and either backpack with him or with a another person.

I enjoy company, but sometimes just need time to myself to unwind from work/family stresses. Also it's just difficult to coordinate different needs/schedules in order to get a group trip together. I usually don't have the time for much coordination.

By yourself you can go where and when you want to, which is liberating.
