I made one out of 2" pipes. 6' for height, 15' long( 3 X 5' with a joint) the bottom of stand is 6' cut in half
    3 X 5' (length)
    2 x 6'(height
2 x 6'(cut in half, 3', for bottom of stand, joined by T Joint)
2 elbows (connect vertical to horizontal pipes)
    2 T
2 joint( whatever they are called for extending straight pipe)

home depot cut and threaded for free to my specs

I was actually hoping just to buy a pre-made one. How much was your total cost to make yours?

Does it seem heavy duty? What hammock do you use with it?

Yes it is sturdy. I use a traveler mostly. Have recently tried the warbonnet too. Seems fine with both. I think some folks have extended these stands to get a better hang angle.
