draft collars - pro's & con's

Hi alltogether!

I'm about to decide on an underquilt. Now I'm not so shure about wether I want it with or without draft collars. I'm eyeballing the ukhammocks 3 season uq btw.
So beeing a nood my wish is to hear y'all pro's and con's on the topic. What I figured out so far:
pro:

• easier to close gapless - means more warmth
• error margin in setup gets smaller

my fears are the follwing (maybe bogous?) con's:

• weight increasement (I allready decided on a 20 deg. modell - so it's pretty heavy allready)
• loss of adjustability for warmer weather (this will be my one and only uq for long and I will mostly use it in summer, plus spring/fall to maybe around 30deg.)

What do you folks think?

Definitely get them. Whatever perceived weight penalty there is will be far offset by their efficacy. Venting will not be a problem with them.

The benefits offset the weight, the draft collar can expand and contract as you move in the hammock during the night. Gaps will open and close on the hammock fabric and the collars will expand to close those gaps as needed. Warm weather venting is not a problem with draft collars.

1) Maybe add's 0.5 oz (1/32 lbs) to your weight. Not significant.

2) You can still open the end and/or sag the uq more for warmer weather.

So I pulled the trigger on exactly this. The 3-season ukhammocks-uq with draft collars. I couldn't resist and also ordered myself a woodsman lite hammock to go with it
