HG hex vs standard with doors

I'm strongly considering pulling the trigger on a HG cuben tarp. And I'm thinking buying a hex and a cuben griz beak from 2qzq instead of the standard with doors. I almost never close both sides of my superfly which is why I don't think I need doors on both sides. It also appears that I can possibly have the hex partially in porch mode and the griz beak doors will still close. Any thoughts on if I'm thinking wrong on this? Should I just buy the standard with doors to keep it simple?

I'm with simple since the doors can be pulled back just like you did with your SF. I'm always in porch mode and just getting used to the doors I had 2qzq put on my tarp. Pretty big gap if you want to use the doors in porch mode, but since no doors has been my modus operandi for years until now, having them down on just the one side is fine for me. Tried using the doors while in porch mode and I think is mostly not worth employing them - looks funny and doesn't really block that much wind (the porch side doors). I think I'll employ a secondary set of stakes to easily be able to pull the porch side of the tarp down at night and fully utilize the doors.

I believe it is Fronkey that has doors sewn on just one side.... Beaks are cool but, I don't like all the extra stakes involved.. hyoh..
We would be one step closer to world peace, if everyone slept in a hammock..

Getting the hg with the doors is cheaper then buying the grizz's later.

I have the standard HG cuben with the doors. When I was making my decision, I realized that with cuben, there isn't much additional weight or bulk. The convenience of having doors outweighed the weight (huh?)
I can also use a ridgeline just a bit longer than the hammock and the doors give me the security of not wetting the ends of the hammock.
I'm very happy with my decision!

Another question on this matter, how is the bulk when in a stuff sack? Is it compareable to the superfly?

Both Spinnaker and Cuben take up more space than silnylon when stuffed, even though they weigh less. I have tarps of all three materials.

Does it take up a lot more space or just a little?
