    Knots???

    Any suggestions for a beginner on the best knot for your tarp string??
    ...I want to see the world; two trees at a time <3

    I like using a taughtline hitch for tying them off to the stakes. You can adjust how tight you can make the lines. You can also make a truckers hitch which also makes an adjustable knot. Check this site out

    truckers hitch, marlin spike hitch, prussik knot, and a slippery overhand should be all you need for all your knots. another one to consider in place of a slippery overhand would be a bowline, but it'll take a couple extra seconds to untie. learn all these and you should never need more... have fun!

    In all honesty I use the slippery overhand and the bowline for just about everything. however i think i might try out the taughtline hitch and rolling hitch. those look pretty handy, thanks richtorfla.

    i use the truckers hitch often. useful for tying the canoe/kayak and cinching tight to the truck roof also.

    I just attached guy out lines to my tarp, I used adjustable grip hitch to connect the line to the poles and a double bowline from the tarp to the line.
