Great write up.
How did cowboy do sleeping under the stars?
What guide book did you use? I'm guessing that's where the trail map came from.

Cowboy did fine. No dew and no rain. The book was "backpacking overnights in north and south carolina mountains" or something like that. Ive used four or five of his hikes. Two had issues. This one was pretty close, except the fowler mountain trail he mentions is called fork mountain for most of it. But really hard to get lost if you're paying the slightest bit of attention.
