I have 5 TQ's and each are sewn. Others have 5 TQ's and all are snaps. Different strokes for different folks. Even my 50 TQ is sewn but that has a draw string closure for venting but anything below 50 well I don't want any drafts on my feet cause if they get cold the rest of me freeze.

Are you folks using plastic snaps or metal? I only have experience with a sewn-footbox on my TQ. I do have a jacket with sturdy plastic snaps that seem lightweight yet sturdy so I'm intrigued with the versatility they might offer.
I'm leaning towards snaps as I'd like this quilt to double as a travel quilt (I'll sell my REI travel down bag that has seen several continents with me, which I use equally as a flat quilt and sleeping bag.) The versatility is appealing. But then I read about gaps and cold blasts and wonder if that's the right choice. About to place my order and I'm just not quite sure...!
Mine are all sewn. I like the warmth, but there is a downside to sewn that is not discussed much. When it comes time to wash the quilt, snaps seem awfully attractive.

I like the snaps. my feet used to sweat inside my sleeping bag. have not had that problem with the snap and drawstring. I really like being able to open and close the drawstring.
