1.0 ripstop durability for a hammock

I'm curious to hear any stories of those who have had failures of 1.0 ripstop hammocks.

I've owned a lot hammocks over the years but I've finally settled on an open net 1.0 as I love the simplicity, light stretch, and overall weight savings. My only reservation is at 185lbs, blowing the hammock out on the first day of a week long trip.

I've had damage to two 1.1 oz hammocks, but luckily it didn't happen on the trail. The last thing I want to do is go to ground so I've decided to stick with heavier material for hammocks, and try to save grams elsewhere.

I've had my DIY 1.0 for some time without any real issues. I'm only about 160 on a good day but i've had my kids in them as well (adds anothe 75). I just take my time and take care with the material.

I have a bias wwm that I used for a daily sleeper for almost a year straight. While I still have and use that hammock, if I were going out for a several day journey, I would take a thicker hammock with me chances are.

I have not had a failure, but the material does look a slight bit worn. The colors are kind of faded in the high use areas.

Good material, just be a little wary of use over time, ie take a good look at everything occasionally.

I've slept in a 1.1 DIY hammock every night, at home and in the field, for a year now with no problems. I weigh 215# when I'm not lying, and I might be lying right now. The lower weight allows me to go with a wider, longer hammock (64" x 144" with a 120" ridgeline), which gives me what I feel is a much flatter lay and allows my legs to go right past what is a calf ridge on shorter hammocks.

I also own a BIAS WW, which is also 1.1, as do several friends, and I don't recall any complaints or reports of failures.
