I resisted the quilt through the simple knowledge that I have several quilts already.

I did break down and get a Wind Shirt, though, in addition to the items I'll be forwarding to Gunn Parker.

    Thanks for posting this, Mike!

Yah thanks for posting this MIKE! Bad enough that I have to look at it over at BPL and then you add it over here and I get to be hit on two sides then you go tempting me with more gear. Yah THANKS MIKE!

well dont blame me entirely.. GoLite's fault! first they send me this tempting email and i look at some stuff and then BPL goes and further pushing my buttons.

my take: purchasing gear alone can be construed as abuse, purchasing gear with friends in a social atmosphere is just casual gear addiction. its only when you hide underquilts and tarps in the toilet tank that you have a real problem.

Ok I am good with blaming Golite I say we all just go to Bolder and have a little talk with them and tell them to knock it off..... Maybe we could persuade them to make it 80% so that we could all just get everything we need and then tell them to leave us alone. Some of us have bills to pay and not nearly enough money to buy every thing they flaunt in our faces. I have not bought any gear in weeks I think I am having withdraws (shaking and sweating) I need some gear NOW!!!

A friend of mine has that Golite quilt. Nice piece of gear esp. at THAT price!

I resisted .... until after lunch. Must have been that milk shake that broke down my will power

I needed a top quilt, been using a bag and this was just too good to pass up. Thanks Mike!

    SHOES

golite shoes can sometimes be found at STP

    try these?

also, the Frog Toggs Poncho is over there too!

enter the phrase "wife carrying contest" in the shipping notes section at checkout, and they will refund shipping charges, making the Poncho a $9 item. awesome!

I heard from Brandon that it'll be at least another week on my BB & SF... Now this money is just sitting here I've never used a real quilt before. My Montbell bag has seemed to work just fine so far in my Claytor. Are quilts really that much better?

They aren't significantly 'better', in that you can certainly use a bag as a quilt. But, the quilt leaves the unused bulk and weight out of the equation if you are trying to trim either your pack weight or bulk.

Well, too late for me, I'm afraid. But thanks. Anything else we need to know?
