My next step was to lay out my 46" x 60" piece of fabric directly on top of the 2.1 climashiled. I then took my 2 2" strips and used an iron on the low setting to fold them in half which helped a lot when I started pinning. The strips were laid on the fabric as shown in Erics youtube video. then the 48" x 60" fabric was laid on top of the strips. So the layers from bottom up are as follows. 6.0 Climashield, 2.1 climashield, 46" x 48" ripstop, the 2 2" channels, 48" x 60" ripstop. I then pinned all 6 layers together (the 2 inch channels are folded in half giving you an extra layer).

I sat down to sew the layers together and remembered what wiscoman had posted about the climashiled getting caught up in the foot. I couldnt get a phot of me doing it but i used a clear ruler to hold the edge of the climashield down on the machine to prevent it from getting caught In the picture below you can see how the climashiled sticks out when pressed down by the presser foot and as you stitch the seam it wants to rolll up and get caught on the foot which stops your forward motion.

Having a little bit of sewing experience under my belt I opted to slightly modify Eric's version from his Youtube video at CW hammocks. Instead of closing my ends with grograin I opted to sew in channels at the head and foot just like the ones on the suspension sides. The trick was to laeve enough opening in the last one to turn the quilt right side out. (my opening was almost too small).

all that was left at this point was to sew it closed. i found this to more complex than i had first thought. While the stitching will hold, it does not look to pretty. LOL

Got to work over tonight for a training class but Friday night I plan to load the suspension in all 4 channels. I need to secure the climashield in the quilt but I haven't figured out exactly how I am going to do it. I don't want to sew it as it will compress it but I need some way to ensure it stays in place through out the quilt

Maybe you could "tack" it in place with some small stitches.

That's kinda what I was thinking to do it similar to what I did with the 2 layers of insulation.
