"The Girl" and I got out in the canoe yesterday. She graduated high school on Friday and now we need to try and do some stuff before the window of opportunity closes. But she won't use a hammock... ... not sure why but she won't.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

That little Tink now a young lady in middle school! Who'd a thunk it? Time does fly. Mine just graduated high school and will be in college this fall.

Does that mean she won't want to hang around us all anymore?

Actually, she would be upset if we didn't go. She really enjoys that trip!

Pads inside a bottom entry asym hammock tend to 'corkscrew'. Meaning that as one places one's backside down and shifts one's weight in a circular montion the pad spins that way. Compensate by adjusting the pad initially parallel along the ridge line and it will hopefully end up underneath one's self when the weight shift takes place.

Consider upgrading her to an UQ if she wants to head out in the colder weather or simply have an easier time sleeping. I've found they are more manageable than pads in a hammock.

The Potomic from KAQ works great with a HH. I picked one up because I got sick of sliding around on my insulated inflatable pad.

50 deg F is no big deal. Wear some good long johns, stay dry and you'll both make it.

Also, the "shoulder wings" mentioned can be seen here:

Enjoy your time with her, make sure she stays toasty at night, and the memories will just start happening!!
All this talk about missing your daughter has me just about in tears... my daughter is in Cuba (NAVY), her birthday was this week (22) and I'm missing her badly. I still see a little girl in my mind when I think of her.

"Off for 10 weeks on a circus tour"......apparently the fruit hasn't fallen too far from the old Shug tree.
