interesting tarp.....could use tarp clips on the centers of the 40" sides... w a 115 RL though, the tie outs would be very odd.. almost a diamond pitch

A 96" RL is going to be tight. You might consider making a couple GrizzBeaks to cover and extend the ends.

So the two sides opposite each other, each closest to the logo, are 40" long. The other 4 sides are about 60" long.

If you were to pitch the ridgeline along the longest possible dimension(you kind of have to, since there is no center tie-down along the 40" sides), it would be asymmetrical, but the ridgeline length would be about 115"

Heres a quick drawing to help better describe the dimensions

An assym hex tarp. That's interesting. Try it out and report back. If it works, that is a great price for a tarp.

    *edit* sorry for the necro

The Nano 7 is 9 feet long, but when hung would it be short enough for the 96" side to work on a ridgeline or cutting it too close / simply not long enough?

    Yojumbo,
Were the $5 6X8' ones actually diamond shaped? Can't they be sown together to be rectangular? (Geometry was never my favorite sport.)
    Thanks.

Yes they were diamond. I've considered different ways to sew them together. I put two in the Fall MAHHA raffle last year so Im down to three. I can split one in half the sew the parts back together to get a 12x8 hex tarp. Just havent gotten around to it

    Yojimbo,
I should have waited for your reply. I went ahead and bought the $40 tarp but sewing two of the $5 ones together like you did should meet my needs. I am planning on making a combined reflective tarp + Complete under cover. Only need the reflective on the about 8' ridge line and about 6' on each side (or less.) All of the rest will be made out of Lite weigh sil-tarp material. It should resemble a Super Shelter that has the reflective inside roof, can be wrapped completely around the hammock with one side attached to allow quick escape but still could be used in porch mode if desired.
    regards to all

I am curious as to how this tarp worked out in a hang. Any photos?
