Welcome neighbor...
Lots of good advice and opinions on here that will help narrow your search.
Welcome to HF from Indiana. If you come up to the Hoosier Hang 2014, in Hoosier National Forest, you will be able to view nearly all brands of hammocks. The hang is April 11, 12, & 13.
Welcome to the forums. If those are your choices, then by all means get the warbonnet. It's a rig that will stay with you a good long while, and be satisfactory all the way.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.
Howdy Neighbor! I do all my backpacking in the gorge as well. I'm from Madison Co.
Welcome to the forum
Lots of info to research here on all kinds of hammocks
Your screen name caught my eye, and from KY also
Also one of my favorite evening drinks
Any connections to the distillery?
Hello from Indiana. As others have said, there is a ton of info on this site. Takes a long time to look through, but worth it to know what you are getting into.
If I had to start over again, I would start with a Warbonnet Blackbird XLC. I don't have one, but I started with the ENO DN and soon realized that I needed a bug net (additional $60-70) and the single layer was chilly in the spring and fall.
Group hangs are a great way to see hammocks and talk with people about their setup. Many people on this site are nice enough to let you try one out for a night, especially a noob who wants to make an. Informed decision for their first hammock. Check the Midwest forum page and post your situation.
Best of luck and welcome to the madness!
Welcome, from KY! Hammocks are all personal preference, but you aren't exactly comparing apples to apples there. Like others have said, an ENO is a great starter hammock, in that it is a bare bones, gathered end hammock. WB is a bit more 'advanced' with the attached bugnet, and a better (included) suspension. Either are great.
If you are new to hammocking, you may not realize that bottom insulation is a MUST for pretty much all seasons here in the Bluegrass. Most people get cold when it's 70° at night; the Gorge is almost never that warm at 4AM! pads work well and are easy for new converts because they already have them from ground dwelling days. But once you have a proper UQ (or an insulated hammock, wink wink) you won't go back!
Feel free to give me a call or PM if you want to talk further. My contact info is on my website...

Shell, I'm in Madison Co KY. Your products look interesting. Are you nearby? I'd love to see one.
thanks! I'm in Anderson County. I do have a hammock on display at Benchmark Outfitters (old Phillip Gall's location) in Lexington. I may make a trip to the Gorge soon and could meet up somewhere like Richmond.
