    Bug Net decision

Right now I'm torn between buying the Dream Hammock BugSock and the ENO Guardian Bug Net . The only thing I'm lacking for with the BugSock is a ridgeline and I've seen reviews that the ENO Guardian is a bit tight, especially for a 6'2" male. Anybody used either of the products and have any input?

    Thanks

Have you taken a look at the Wilderness Logics bug net or the BIAS buginator? Both give you different options.

Skip the ENO Guardian - the other options presented are better. I have a Buginator and NanoBuginator and love them.

I like the ENO if I don't have to carry it any further than from the kayak to the hammock. It allows you to sit in the hammock with bug protection. Also I can throw my TQ in the bottom until I need it.

If I am hiking I prefer one of the lighter versions mentioned above.

I dont mind the eno. Plus its great for storage under you. Just toss stuff out of the hammock and grab them as needed under you. Im 6'5" and I fit. My gt double is a bit tight but not bad.

Do you hook up to a hammock ridegline, or a tarp ridgeline?

The ENO Guardian comes with a ridgeline to use as shown in their photos. I never used it. If you have (you can add one) a ridgeline on your hammock, it goes inside of the net and supports it that way.

The ENO is not a favorite of backpackers because it weighs more than the others. It also is too short for larger 11' hammocks but will fit your ENO hammock.

Look into a DIY bugnet. There are some threads on these forums that make it look easy!

This is the one I'm using:

The hug bug net is much lighter and covers just what you need. The cost is less too. It is also nice in that it sets up well with no ridge line. That is the way I use it and have never had an issue. The design allows for any size hammock too, so you won't be constricted if you decide to upgrade or change out you hammock later.

This looks like something I am extremely interested in. Know of any videos demonstrating it's use? I did a quick search of the web and couldn't find any. If not I'll just have to purchase and test run myself! Thanks gnarus!
