Growing up I always wanted to love hammocks but I could never get 'em to work for me so I generally just forgot all about them.
As an adult and now homeowner, I've held to the fantasy that one day I'd be able to afford a nice backyard rig, but the realities of bills and dogs and lack of ANY sort of shade has kept it strictly to the fantasy realms.
So that brings us to last week...
I've been cleaning my teenage boys' rooms out and finally told the fifteen year old that a mattress on the floor was no longer acceptable. Since my bank account had a mild stroke when I priced new mattresses I jokingly suggested he could just get a hammock.
Well, that brought me here!
I picked up a Vivere Double-Brazilian for him the other day and tonight I managed to score the hanging software. As soon as I locate my drill bits I'm off to hang the hammock in the freshly scrubbed bedroom.
The plan is to mount the hardware into the wall joists up near to the ceiling, approximately 7' off the ground. I'll try to grab some photos of the process to post.
Wish me luck!
