Any Ridgerunner owners using a UCR suspension

I'm in the process of trying to lighten the suspension for my Warbonnet Ridgerunner and am looking into UCRs. I've been informed that UCRs will add about 10" to the required distance needed for hanging vs. a whoopie sling suspension. Since the RR already requires a bit more distance between trees for an optimal hang, has anyone found this to be a problem? Or, has anyone else looked into UCRs for use with the Ridgerunner and decided against them because of this (or other) issue?

    how long are the poles?

I'm considering an RR purchase, but I'd want to replace the poles immediately

The poles are standard length. i had the back end made in 3 even pieces, instead of the 2 long and one short.

On the ridgerunner you can take out the small 3 inch section and save a little weight, but i felt like the hammock was a little more comfy with the wider setup. If you email the guy at the company he can make them for you and he already knows how long the factory poles are from me and one other guy on this site that had them made.

They're pretty sick looking and i think they're stronger then the ones that come from Warbonnet!

I think they cost around $90 shipped.

I can take some picture of them when i get home if you'd like

your only losing an inch or 2 w/ ucr's vs whoopies. I prefer ucrs, easier to adjust. For me, it was about losing all of that bulky webbing, not so much weight.

Josh <[email protected]> makes 6 oz replacement poles for the RR. He has an option of no small bar extension at the head, which I opted for (just two head pieces vs the WW supplied 3). If you order insist on the solid carbon ferrule at both head and foot ends. I did have a hollow ferrule break. Josh was quick to replace it. the shrouds broke my headlamp which was stored in the head pocket area, it could have been my head. I did have two more days left on the hike and improvised a replacement pole in the field.
