Andersen Air Force Base, Guam Hike

My wife and I struck out from our house today and walked a round trip of 6.8 miles. We did mostly road walking; however, we made it back to some old jeep trails that have been sealed off to vehicle traffic. The roads lead to 2 different overlooks. I'm finding out that my sunscreen failed and i've got a burnt neck, arms, and legs

We had a good time and here are a few pictures.

This looks like some old water source. many things on this island are left over from WWII days. This could be one of those things.

can you see the monitor lizard? it was a BIG one!

Thanks for looking. I should have a some pics from a hammock hang in a few weeks…if all goes well

Sure looks nice over there, especially now with the winter we've been having

We are so jealous of the cold weather. We are winter people. I can't wait to get back to fall and winter weather. I know most of you guys and gals are tired of it by now though.

Thanks for sharing those views. That was a big lizard. Quite a bit different from the scenery here in Middle TN.

I spent 2003 on Okinawa when Operation Iraqi Freedom started, so I didn't get to sight see much. What I do know is that island 'hot' is a different hot, especially when the five-minute rain clouds pass over and heat up the asphault. I do regret not getting out and seeing the island like you are. I got a pretty close friend from Guam that lives near me in the states, and all her and her family does is have a good time. So be sure to meet some locals, and you will definitely get invited to one of the best pig roasts you have ever been to! MM1 out

Beautiful area, I love the pictures. I was able to get out on a hike to some waterfalls when I was out there, it was amazing. Unfortunately, I can't for the life of me remember the name of the falls.

Pretty cool Lug! If you find yourself with orders to Wright-Patt you'll get plenty of all the seasons! And some awesome hiking buddies with the Ohio gang!

Believe me, you would have had plenty for a whole year had you been here.
