    Another DIY convert...

So I've commandeered my girlfriend's thread injector and built a few hammocks...

Got my DIY kit from Tier Gear (www.tiergear.com.au), including taffeta, whoopie sling cord and tree straps...

Sewed up some hems and channels, whipped the ends...

Made some whoopie slings and tree straps...

And tested my new hammock. It's almost 10ft long.

I made one exactly the same for my girlfriend too. She loves it. But then I decided mine was too short so I made another - this time using 1.9 oz ripstop and at 11"8' it's plenty long with zero calf pressure.

Also we decided to make some bugnets as it's still pretty buggy here in Queensland.

Next, I want to build a tarp and possibly an underquilt. The project has been fun, and I'm surprised at how much I've enjoyed it. The last time I had to sew anything was 25 years ago at school

    Looking good

Thanks guys. Yes it is warm here but starting to cool as autumn commences...which means we'll need under quilts! We will be heading out camping and hiking more now it's cooler, so we'll be hanging whenever we can. It'll be good to get a better understanding of hanging and hiking.

And thanks Simon for your help with supplies and advice, it's much appreciated.
