Professional international hang crasher may be the go .

If I did get over there it sure would be nice meeting up with a bunch of fellow hangers, so I think the car rental idea is a must, and travel to a few different places.

Thanks for all the input so far.

John Muir Trail... Although it may require some tent camping as you go above the tree line several times.

Option for a 1 week trip in late April on the East Coast:
    Fly into Washington Dulles (Virginia).
1.5 hour drive North and attend MAHHA to meet Eastcoast hammockers (https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=87858),
drive back to Virginia and hike 100 miles of the AT within Shenandoah National Park (you can even eat most meals at the restaurants located within the park) http://www.nps.gov/shen/planyourvisi...whole_park.pdf
If this appeals to you, I can assist with transportation to/from AT within Shenandoah.
Fly in April 22 you can come along on a trout fishing trip followed by the MAHHA.

Thanks for the offer oldpappy but this trip could be quite a while in the planning. A few things have to fall in place before I can make it happen. The more offers I get like this one though the more I want to get over there .

    I really appreciate the offer.

OK, I'll just have to go without you:>)
Whenever you do decide to go, if you decide on the East coast let me know and perhaps something can be arranged. For your planning, mid July thru mid August is miserable hiking season due to heat, humidity, and blood sucking bugs.

Great video for the JMT . Haven't been but after watching this, I must go. Back east The Great Smokies Mt. are a good shorter hike.

Tough to imagine anything as incredible as the 221 (ish) miles known as the JMT. I was fortunate to be the first active member of our troop to hike the entire trail while in their 50's and would not trade a minute of it, but the one walk I am looking forward to is that short stroll down the aisle with my daughter when the time is right.
Happy Trails to one and all.
Enjoy the outdoors wisely and elevate your perspective.
