    Q about DD Camping Hammock

I have a DD Camping hammock and as the other DD hammocks it's a double layer, On the DD site they advice to if wanted you can lay between the layers as a cocoon...

But will it hold for this? I'm a heavy man and wonder if it will take my weight using it as a cocoon. I guess I will be laying on the stitches and having the zipper up... or should I just get in it from the side having the stitches on one side and the zipper on the other?

Anyone knows? anyone that have tried this?

    How much do you weigh?

The DD hammock is made from some pretty heavy duty fabric. While I have never tried laying between the layers, I would say it would hold up fine. I'm also sure that the people at DD would have to be pretty confident that it would hold up if they put it on the website.

you can email dd and get a final answer on the weight a single layer will support - they are very approachable and honest.

With regards 'flipping' the cocoon around so the zip is at 12 o'clock - no can do - it's designed to zip up along the side (3 / 6 o'clock) . you could get the zip running along 10 o'clock max by twisting the cocoon as you get in, but it may be inclined to slip back to a side position. Anyway - this info as DD emailed me.
