    Come see my new Winnebago

so this is my newest hammock, a DIY special from the sewing machine of "sodakgrrl"

it is a 8' long with a 44" spreader bar at the head and a 36" spreader bar at the foot, double layer 1.1 ripstop for the body and diy gear supply mesh for the bug net

i have dubbed her "the winnebago"

here is the 44" head end

    and the 36" foot end

here it is with the bug net just laying in the foot end

here is the bugnet stored in the integrated pocket at the foot end

at the head there is an integrated 3 compartment pocket with elastic on the top edge

for size perspective that is a wb bmj strung above it, i twill be big enough, but just barely, and if there is any wind blown rain i could be in trouble, time for another tarp i guess

    action shot!

    foot end action shot

here is how nice and flat the lay is, i can lay on my stomach very comfortably

just incase we got hungry, murphy scrounged something up for us out in the woods

just thought i would share, thanks for looking

Really interesting bridge hammock. I see something new on here every day, well I haven't been around that long so it's new to me, perhaps it has been done before. I think a bridge hammock might be on my agenda once I finish the projects I have going now. What are the advantages of the placement of the spreader bar?

And great pic of Murphy, he's not giving that thing up. My dogs used to bring home deer parts all the time. They brought a head once and left it on the porch, my mom threw it back into the woods like 5 times but sure enough they always brought it back. She should have burried it. Alright, sorry off topic.

Very Nice Winne. Bet it's easy to park too:>)
So it looks like a tarp improvement is next on your list too.

Great job, sodakgrrl, good looking hammock there.

OK Boots, now it's your turn. Time for a larger tarp. You'll need 30 yards x 68" of silnylon. Should about cover the length needed for a 13' RL tarp with doors to keep that wind-blown rain out. And wide enough to allow room on the sides for a small party under the tarp with a disco light suspended to your RL.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you

What an awesome hammock! Does the netting stay completely off of your body when you lie in the hammock?

Ha, and I giggled out loud at the dog holding a deer leg. He's like "I know you are going to take this away from me, but I am going to enjoy it fully until that moment". haha.
