Non whipped gathered end hammock question

I just finished making my first hammock with continuous loops through the end channel. An 11 footer made with hunter green ripstop from Joann fabrics.

While I see a lot of homemade gathered end hammocks with whipped ends but not much discussion regarding hammocks with continuous loops through the end channel. Am I taking my life into my hands?

The hammock is for my wife and if she falls my DIY days are over. shell be in it at the NE spring Hang in 4 weeks. I might have to bring a mattress to put under it just in case . I may have to test it for a couple of nights first.

The hammock is sewn with rolled hems all the way around, it has triple stitched end channels and 1/8 amsteel continuous loops. Its hanging with whoopie slings at the moment. I'll probably switch to webbing and Buckles.

The first picture is a close up off the end channel the hammock on my left is my Appalachian Hammock the green hammock on the right is mine.

You're on track, nothing unsafe about that set up. Nice work.
    Good luck,

That looks a whole lot better than any of my stitching! If you are really worried, use xtrekker's method of attaching suspension and SRL, his method is possibly more secure than the W fold and whip method, possibly indestructible!

My continuous loops are double larks headed to the gathered end, no whipping. The ridgeline goes through the end channel and then passes through the loops.

Agreed. You should be good to go. Nice work.

My first (or second) DIY hammock is made from the same Joann's green ripstop with the same general construction details as your's and had a 7/64" amsteel whoopie sling larks headed through the end channels.

Your next hammock will go faster if you use a longer stitch length like the brown hammock has. 8-10 stitches per inch is plenty.
