    Total noob comparing UQs...

    For a WB XLC, comparing WB Yeti 3-season (20*, 12 1/2 oz., $190), EE Prospect (30*, 17 1/2 oz., $150), and KAQ Jarbridge (30*, 20 oz., $100).

WB is a little lighter, prolly warmer and more compressible, and more expensive... But the others are larger underneath, and prolly better insulating if/when wet.

D those of you who really understand such things have insight to share? I'm afraid I'm just way over thinking all this!

Backpacking, but the 5-8 oz. difference isn't huge. The synthetic quilts are also bigger (44X54 vs. 40X44). I guess my big questions are, does that extra area matter much? And, how likely is moisture to be a factor (the Yeti bottom is DWR, but it's filled with down whereas the others are synthetic)?

    Thanks for the feedback!

I have the kaq new river. Its 48 by 78. Its warm to 30. But its big. And weighs 30 oz. I will say I like the larger size but im a cold sleeper. For me its packablilty. Would rather go with down As far as condensation non in the kaq. Synthetic will keep you warmish. when wet. If down gets wet your gonna be cold. It doesn't dry very quickly either. But its the warmest lightest option.

I assume since you bought an XLC you are on the big side.
For me wider UQ stay on my shoulders better and allow me to move around in the hammock without adjusting the UQ.
I would add Hammock Gear Pheonix to your list fo review.
