MO HANG - Berryman Trail - April 26-27

    MO HANG 8
    Berryman Trail
    April 26-27
    Potosi, MO
    http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_...sm8_045355.pdf

Let's meet at the Berryman Trailhead and Campground. Directions are in the link posted above. The entire loop is 24 miles, so that'll be 2 long days if we plan to do the entire loop. I'd like to set it up so we meet Friday night and do some of the miles Friday night as a night hike, if enough people are able to. Either way, plan to put down some decent miles.

Hope to see a lot of you there! It should be a great time of year.

    Nice trail choice disco.
I've hiked the loop twice and the O.T. side once.
I'll give you guys a heads up that they have relocated the O T side recently so old maps won't be accurate for that side, the trail is very well blazed though.
Little branch Creek has been chemically contaminated upstream of the area so beware of this if waiting till Harmon spring to resupply with water.
This was brought to my attention my the maintainance crew supervisor on my second hike.
Beecher spring is an excellent place to camp and has an artesian well for water.
Brazil Creek is great water and has a campground.
If the loop is done clockwise your last section is a nice mostly downhill trail section back to hwy 8.
If my back is up to it I'll try to join you, right now I'm a maybe.

the latest maps being put out by the Ozark Trail association has the correct trail. the easiest way to know if you are going in the right direction is that the OT markers have a reflective sticker in the North Bound direction.
Vicky and I are going to try and come and be ground dwellers for practice with our Scotland walk starting May 9th. If something comes up I will keep you all posted.

Looks like Bosch and I are the two new guys.

I was going to do my first hammock hike by myself at Land Between the Lakes, but meeting up with a group would be even better.

    Count me in!

    • There's a very thin line between a little bit crazy and a whole lot stupid.
    • If you're lost, just go faster. You'll be lost for less time.

I'm going to try and make this one to.
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is rapture on the lonely shore, There is society where none intrudes , By the deep sea, and music in its roar, I love not man the less, but nature more. Lord Byron
