I'm a Mormon. I know it, I live it, and I love it.
BIAS Weight Weenie.
DIY tablecloth , when not weight conscious.
DIY gathered end when counting grams.
I'm a simple gathered-end sewn-channel hammock fan. Wish I had known that when I was a noob instead of trying Swiss Army hammocks with zippers, shelves, built-in bugnets and overcovers. Personal preference, but I've always disliked multifunction devices no matter what the product. Engineers seem fascinated with them, which is why we always see them on the market.
So give me a simple hammock, and if I need a bugnet I'll get a separate one. And if I need a winter sock, I'll get a separate one of those too.
My recommendation to any noob would be to try tablecloth hammocks first - $12.99 gets you in the game and off the ground.

DIY ripstop when I don't need a bugnet. WBBB for summer bug weather.
Sometimes I just deal with bugs. I rather be in the open.
Blackbird......
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
Any and typical gathered end - not much difference really.

Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.
There are times that the only way you can do something is to do it alone.
