Post New to HF and new to the hammock world...

I've been tent camping all my life and have just splurged and bought a blackbird and a superfly w/snap doors as my first hammock. Got a question... Has anyone used a big agnes sleeping bag in the hammock or any other sleeping bag for that matter? If so is it hard to use?

    thanks in Advance!!!!!

Some say yes, some say no. Mainly, it's harder in a Hennessy. I say it's fine and also way cheaper since you probably already own 2 or 3.

I used a bag when I first started hanging, but found it to be kinda tricky getting into it in a hammock. After a while, I surrendered and just draped the bag over me, like a quilt, and found I was actually warmer that way! lol

I use a mummy style bag bot opened as a quilt. Contrary to some here I like the partial length side zippers at it forms a stable foot bag. The sleeping bag I purchased with a full length zipper now has the zipper stitched off so it only opens part way.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Thanks to all with your quick responses! Since were on a roll would anyone suggest the air mattress inside the hammock or in the double layer portion?

try it both ways to find out what you prefer, but it might stay in place better in the pad pocket.
