What do you do with your pegs?

I put a small rectangle torn from a corrugated card board box in a small bag. The pegs slide into the cardboard and keep them from poking through the bag. I hang the bag from my marlin spike.

I always kept them (short stakes) in my cook kit. They do double duty within my hobo stove as pot holders.
With all these good ideas I guess another project is close at hand.
I like post#8 sodakgrrl/Kayak Karl's idea of a burrito - mine will do double duty as a peak beak/wrap.

I put them in a zip-lock baggy and then insert the bag with stakes into my snake skins so I always have them handy when I go to put up my tarp. You hardly even notice them in the rolled/folded up tarp skins. If baggy gets dirty or torn for whatever reason...the zip lock bags are inexpensive to replace. Hope this helps

Another user of the Tyvek envelope.

My stakes are aluminum gutter nails, which are sharp, but a rubber band around the envelope holding the stakes keeps them from poking anything.

Roll them up with ridge line put inside small bag and roll up inside tarp

My assorted stakes, rolled-up tarp ridge line, assorted Dutchware goodies and a few mini s-biners live in the small rectangular plastic container crystal light 2 qt lemonade packets come in (1.75"X2.5" x 6" tall?), which is protective but perhaps a bit of a waste of space. If i'm going light & just using shepards hook stakes I'll also sometimes just slide the shafts all into a piece of plastic tubing (fish tank air hose for just a few/hardware store for bigger diameters for more) cut a bit longer than the stakes are, to keep the ends from causing trouble. You can stuff 'em all in one end or alternate from both ends.

I've been using a tyvek envelope as well but like others, I'm digging the burrito or bandana idea.
Time for some tweaking.

Out of respect for the people at the "USPS" and the Federal warning printed at the bottom of every envelope I would personally not use/reuse one of their envelopes but it is a good idea to stop by a post office and check one out if you are no sure what this discussion is about. Most people can buy "Tyvek" or similar lightweight strong waterproof fabric online or at hardware stores and use tape, superglue, thread etc to fabricate stake bags, ridgeline bags, ground pads or footprints etc.
