ENO Atlas vs. Kammok Python straps

These two products are very similar, I think the only differences are the kammok straps have 3 extra points of connection, weighs 1oz. more, costs 5$ more and is about 10 inches longer. Minor differences aside, I was wondering if Anyone has anything worth mentioning about either of these products, or even another suspension similar to these. I would especially like to know if anyone has had any bad experiences with them!

    Thanks!

I don't think highly of ENO products in general but you've presented a fairly powerful argument for the Atlas Straps. That, and I've read some disturbing customer issues about Kammok that make the ENO straps a no-brainer.

I use the Atlas straps with my ENO and they hold up without the stretch problems of the old ones. I've never been in a situation where they weren't long enough.

I can't speak for Kammok products...but I'm roughly 360-370 lbs (though it's coming down thankfully), and my Atlas straps hold me up just fine. Haven't noticed any stretching or torn seams with them yet.

    Dan,

Have you looked at a cinch buckle system? A few months ago when I was thinking of swapping out my HH stock suspension, I looked at the Python and Atlas straps a lot and read a lot of research. I didn't end up finding anything really bad about either of them other than their weight when compared to a whoopie sling. I was looking at them as a convenience over the whoopies (especially for my 8-year old) so I wasn't too concerned that they were heavier.

However, I think I've decided to go with a cinch buckle system now. It's lighter (and cheaper) than the Python and Atlas straps but is still really convenient. And if I decide to go with a whoopie (or any other system) in the future, I can still reuse the straps.

I bought the Kammock python straps for my initial suspension for my Clark. But switched to straps, Dutch buckle and whoopieslings because it is lighter. The Kammock straps are, from my inspection, well made but I have not used them. I got them after reading an article comparing them to the Eno atlas straps. I will keep them as a secondary suspension or maybe primary suspension for another hammock. My only complaint is they are heavier than straps, buckle and whoopieslings, but seem real easy to dial in, just change attachment points.

I had no problems ordering them, so I never needed to contact them so I can't comment about customer service.

I don't know much about Kammock Python straps, but I have used ENO's Atlas straps for two years now and have never had a problem with them. They were a great improvement over the original slap straps, best part is there is no stretch and I haven't run into a situation where they weren't long enough.
