    North Carolina underquilt suggestions

    Hi all,
I am looking for my first underquilt but I may be moving to Raleigh in the fall for school. I was wondering if you had any suggestions for quilt temp ratings for a three or four season quilt.
    Thanks

I have and use a 20 degree UQ all year around. I just vent it accordingly. I also do more adjusting with my TQ. I also don't camp in weather much over 80. Not yet at least. If its warm I have a bag liner or even a fleece blanket I would bring. I do plan on making an UQ with 2 lands end down vests to use as a summer quilt.

I agree with the 20 degree recommendation.
That seems to cover the most time I am out in the hammock.

Yeah the 20 degree works for me also.
    Straight out of Clayton.

Most physical hike: Grandfather Mountain, NC. Aug 13.

I don't need to make my pack lighter. I need to make my (_*_) lighter.

20 deg will probably cover most of three seasons. You may eventually want to add a summer UQ for July-August.
Winters in NC-- I've camped down to the low-teens several times using 15-20 deg quilts top and bottom with a few oz overstuff... Generally will also wear extra layers to sleep in if temps are below the low 20s with those quilts.
If you prefer winter camping or very high elevations maybe consider quilts with a lower temp rating.

Welcome to HF from NC! Try to attend a group hang soon...great times good people
