I live in OR...have hung all over WA, OR and MT and my 8ft straps work just fine. I have actually been thinking of going shorter with 6ft ones...4ft are definitely too short...

Shorter straps work good if you have an amsteel extension. I'm in Vancouver, Canada and for our bigger trees I have a two foot dog bone for my four foot straps. Any longer than that and I larkshead my ucr's onto the dog bone.

Am I the only one who actually enjoys hanging off big, old trees? Of course its a hassle but I like to hang off of a 400 year old oak, wondering who else rested here and all that other hippy nonsense.
