So aside from a week of insomnia two or three times a year, I am generally asleep with in a minute or two of putting my head on the pillow and sleep so hard I wake up only for my alarm. My wife reports that I talk walk eat change dirty diapers and soothe crying children and I have no recollection of those things in the morning.
When I first started to use a hammock I think maybe the first three times I bailed because I could not get to sleep. I am not sure if it was because I sleep on my stomach and can't even remember the last time I have slept on my back, until hammocks, or if it was my mild sensory disorder, specifically the offensive feeling of things i am not used to touching me, but i got used to it and got to where I would go to sleep quickly. Then it took a little longer to actually stay asleep for a meaningful period of time. A little longer and now I can sleep through the night.
I just made a friend a hammock out of one of the 156 x 90 inch table cloths, and it was so amazing to lay in I am thinking of making one for myself for my weekend naps and save my others for camping. I could sleep on my side and on my stomach, lay was so flat. It was awesome! Only problem is I take more naps than I go camping.
If you made it through all of that my question is this, more so I can stop thinking about it than anything, for those of you that use multiple hammocks, do you notice that you have to acclimate to your current hammock after a switch? I am pretty sure I am going to make one for my self and even sew in some insulation for a napping hammock at home, but I don't really want to go through my initial acclimation process even for a night when I go camping. I could rotate hammocks to keep them fresh. Is sleeping in a hammock like riding a bike?
I'd like to hear stories or solutions or experiences. Help me quit obsessing over this thought that I am going to spoil myself.
Thank you in advance. :-)
