TN>Roan High Knob>July 11,12,13 Summer Cooler Hang

Pre-planning for the first RHK Summer Cooler Hang.
As per Rivendells suggestion throwing these dates out there for this hang.
By this time in the summer most of us will need a dose of cool air/high wind/possibly extreme rain. I can't think of a better place to get cold in July

Two summers ago Poor, Neutron, Vortex and I did a July hang at RHK and found ourselves in a very intense situation with the wind, rain and temps in the 40s...maybe this time it will be a light breeze and balmy temps.

Of course all are invited. Going in the summer allows parking within a mile of RHK and a relatively flat (just remember it's the AT so nothing is really flat for those coming from the deep deep south). Being so close (and there is one spot that cuts off even more mileage) we can bring in some good food.

Any interested in the first group summer hang at RHK? We can easily hang 20-30 there without resorting to brush entry.

If I'm off that weekend, I'm definitely interested! I'm pretty sure I'll be off, but our schedule is changing slightly at work so we'll see.

I will definitely keep an eye on this. We will be heading up to the mountains on either the evening of the 10th or early on the 11th. We had plan on staying at the cabin until the 13th. We have to check in at Camp Daniel Boone on the 13th and then start our Fontana Float trip on the 14th thru the 19th. If my son and his buddy are up to a night at RHK, we will check it out. It will be up to the boys.

Dang...turns out the Palmetto State Hangers Swamp Butt Hang is the same weekend, and I'm already committed to attending. Any chance of making it a couple weekends before or after?
