All Womens Hang

July 11-13, Friday to Sunday

We will camp in a campground near Beckley, W. VA and New River Gorge National Park. There are numerous such campgrounds, if anyone has a favorite, post it with your reply. The campgrounds I am looking at have bathhouses, covered picnic shelters and a lake/or river. We can plan some day hikes or touristy visits to the local areas, anyone for white water rafting? All things hammocks, will be discussed, yea!

I will be visiting Beckley in June. I will scope out the campgrounds then. Unless, of course, someone has a favorite. So come on ladies, lets start planning activities.

I will not be able to make it these dates. I have to work that weekend. I hope you all have a great time and look forward to a trip report! Hopefully this will become an annual thing and I can make another one!

I am going to try to make it there, either by myself or with another woman who is not a hanger....she would need a place for her pop-up camper and be able to bring the very old dog. If she can't come I will be on the motorcycle by myself!!

I think a camper spot is doable and I will check on pet requirements when I go in June to look at campgrounds. Bring the motorcycle, I miss mine, sigh.

I should be able to make that weekend. I don't know a lot about that area. There are several state parks, Babcock SP, Twin Falls SP, and probably a few others. I have not camped at any of the parks or campgrounds down that way though.

I think there is a tourist train down that way. There are places to rock climb and I think there is a place to zip-line. I have rafted the New River, but that was about 20 years ago. Lots of old coal and logging towns and I expect LOTS of hiking trails.

Great info! It is definitely an area with tons of stuff to do. I'm not a rock climber, but I enjoying watching the climbers in the Red River Gorge. I haven't rafted in whitewater, but I did canoe the New in a new canoe

Told my wife about your hang and she was all excited about it until she found out how far way it was from where we live.

Says she hopes you ladies have a great time.
