Sorry, no hammocks, but I just wanted to share my wonderful experience hiking up Angels Landing in Zion National Park, UT. I did talk to a backpacker and he did mention that above the canyon there were many pine trees to hang on, so I may have to try that some time.
The view were spectacular! Angels Landing is a fin-like formation in the middle of a horseshoe bend. The trail is about 2.5 miles and follows a spine like trail that ends about 1500 above the valley floor. Parts are the trail are only a few feet wide with 1000 ft drop offs on either side. Our group consisted of some old guys and we were surrounded by Spring Break college age kids. Many of the groups were passing us up with their fast pace, but in the end the old guys got a lot of pleasure when we passed the young hikers up with our steady pace.
We also found some Anasazi petroglyphs in a near by town. I've never seen so many petroglyphs in one location.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video and excuse the lack of hammocks in it!
