Hi all! Doug here from Long Island NY, 46 years old and a lifelong camping enthusiast. Been looking to find a more comfortable way of sleeping in the great outdoors, that search led here, and to my first hammock purchase. Bought a Hennessy Ultralight Backpacker asym, expecting it to arrive wednesday, will update as I go! Great forum!

Thanks for the nice welcome to the forum. Seems to be enough info on this site to get me up to speed with hammock camping and deplete my bank account quite effectively! I am already leaning towards getting a Superfly tarp, as I need some more privacy/coverage whilst on Boy Scout camping trips.
My Hennessy was to arrive yesterday, but the dreaded white FEDEX slip was grimly hanging from the door, my wife had been out and well no sig no ham!
Got the call fom my wife this afternoon that my new toy had arrived so i am counting down the minutes!

Welcome from SoDak. You are right, be careful around here, you will be burning up your credit cards in no time and spending all your time playing with amsteel, zing-it and trying to find the perfect lay. I just realized how dirty that sounded. I should look for a better term for that.
