For winter I use a 12X14 rectangular 70D PU coated HEAVY, with a simple center pole mod.
It was once a dining fly from the BSA supply
The ends can be pulled together, only using 2 tie downs with lots of center room

I would, if your not concerned about wieght and it makes you happy then why not? To me its all about being cofortable, its a car camping tarp, not the one to go out hiking with!
Marty at WL made me a 12 X 15 tarp a few years ago. It's my group tarp for river rafting. It's on his website....Wild River tarp. Not cheap, but super nice. I think he will make whatever you want?

Have to agree with Zilla. Would be great for car camping and short family trips. Not sure I'd want to lug a 1.5-2lb tarp too many miles through the back country. Of course if you go CF the weight would be much more manageable. Not sure what it would weigh but if be interested to know...
I would love one, but this seems to be yet another time my interest in a product greatly exceeds the budget.
my winter tarps...OMW and a kelty noah 16 x16 with DIY pole mods. kelty is heavier so great for pulk pulling or car camping
