    Dutch Buckles

After a good bit of thought I decided to buy a pair I of Dutch buckles. I tried to order them last night and I can't find them on dutch's website. Does anyone know what happened to them? I bought a bunch of stuff to convert a Clark hammock to a strap suspension and the buckles are the last item needed to finish the transformation.

Were you looking for the clips or the buckles? The clips can be found here.

I am discontinuing the Dutch Buckle, at least temporarily. There was an incident where it was used incorrect and it slid down the webbing. It was a slow release but it tore up the webbing. If I could suggest an alternative, the Strap Buckle does the exact same function.

Thanks for the link. But, if you go directly to the homepage, and pick hammock stuff they are not there (unless I've overlooked them). Try it. If you google dutch buckles and go into the website through the "back door" directly to the dutch buckles without going through the homepage they show up. I'm just wondering what's up with this. Have they been discontinued, are they temporarily unavailable or is there a mistake in the web page? Maybe dutch can shed some light on it.

hmmmmm....Could you post how they are done correctly and perhaps how they slid? I've not had any issues with mine moving at all, so I assume I'm doing it correctly. Strap thru the wider slot, strap around the middle area, thru the thinner slot, back thru the wider slot. Give a tug to ensure "lock"....

Thanks for the reply Dutch, you beat me to it. I have a clark. The point of the change was to make the hammock easier to hang and hopefully reduce the weight a little since clarks weigh a lot. I removed the stock ropes and put loops of mule tape in both ends like a chain link. I want the attach point to the tree strap to just slip over the dutch buckle like a toggle. The buckle you suggested is a worse alternative for me. It weighs more and it isn't designed to retain the loop in the way I'm going to use it. I think it would work with amsteel but not so well with mule tape. The clark stuffs very tightly into its own pocket so I don't want any metal parts attached to the loops because they will possibly damage the fabric at some point. So, do you have anything that would accomplish that?
