I lay with my head to the left. I think it had something to do with the zipper being on the right and I wanted more fabric on the zipper side to make it easier to access.

I flip-flop both directions and on both diagonals, sometimes facing out, sometimes in. Always on my side. I'm restless in bed, too.

After a few nights in my new Thunderbird, I'm really glad I went with a left lay. Using my right arm to access my stuff which I always put on the right side is easy. Another thing I noticed is I often like my left leg in a figure 4, and the wall of fabric on that side is a nice rest for my leg.

I left lay with the head raised somewhat more than most. I have severe acid reflux and Barretts Esophogus so it helps to lay that way to prevent/alleviate some of those symptoms. Its one of the major reasons I switched to hanging.

BINGO! What the heck is the 'Head side of a hammock' anyway. Apart from the bottom entry HH or a hammock with a foot box;the head end appears to be a choice. Perhaps I am missing something but get comfy and enjoy. The different colored whoopies is a nice idea.

Seems like most that replied are left lay. Wonder why right lay is the standard way vendors make them?

With the Dream Hammocks Thunderbird, the zipper for the over cover or net start at the foot and end at the head.

My DIY gathered end has a distinctive head end. Trying it the other way is just wrong. I won't re-whip it because it's about perfect.

guess they just assume most are right handed, so they sleep the same way.
