Hammock Noob - Central TX

Heard about this forum a couple of years ago and have been lurking for a little while....
Been researching tarp/hammock camping for just about as long and have finally decided to take the plunge and give it a shot.
I've been backpacking since the 80's and enjoy being solo the best, although I do like taking my son out and we do day hikes often.

Not opposed to hiking with a group from time to time, but I do like all the information and the nice community you have going here.
Looking forward to learning a lot and making some new friends.

Sharing time with your son in the great outdoors is something you will never regret so do it as often as possible. He'll be taking those treks with his son before you know it and what a joy it will be to have 3 "Sarge" generations in the piney woods together.
