If you are looking to sleep 2, I would choose the first one. While there are a few hammocks that advertise sleeping 2 people, I think you will find that it is not a very comfortable situation. You would be pressed against each other, and not in the good way.

    Michigan has bugs, right?
I'd go with the Skeeter Beeter and get two. Unless you are just looking for something to hang around in, then the parachute (HAAB) style hammocks are great!

I think I could make an argument against that last part.
Actually, it really is quite comfortable if you're feeling all lovey and stuff. Impossible to beat the system for warmth. I remember watching snow fall outside my tarp while I was sweating under a summer quilt. Double sleeping has its merits in addition to its drawbacks. Finding a comfy position for both of you just takes a little practice. There are certainly worse ways to kill a little time on a Saturday afternoon.

Check out this thread. It may give you some ideas on a starter setup.

I wouldnt suggest a 2 person model either-think of how a hammock works. Ultimately, you will both be pulled to the lowest point of the hammock-sounds intimate, but, consider it being warm, lying on top of one another, and generally constricted. I would recommend 2 hammocks, maybe strung close to each other? If you're both in 1, and it isnt comfy, if there isnt any other sleeping option, you have only 2 choices: deal with it, or one of you gets to go to ground. Guess which one?

If you have the scratch you could contact dbhammock on the forums and ask if he would custom make you one of his double bridge jobbers. Caveat... It won't be cheap it it would be possible at all.
Try to do a DIY double if you have the desire to go through the frustration and excitement of your own research and design.

Otherwise, for sleeping comfort I would recommend the two singles with a possible third for those shared moments.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.
