Can anyone tell me how many inches I should add to my hammock length if I'm planning on putting knots in its ends?

I've never finished a hammock with knots, but if I were to do so, I would finish one end before cutting the other end. Then put tick marks on the hem showing the distance from the end of the hammock. Tie your knot and see how much fabric was consumed. Now you know how much to cut off the other end.
Alternately, you could just ask someone on the forum that knows the answer.

I just made my first (no sew) hammock from 62" wide ripstop nylon. I didn't tie knots in the end, but used the method shown here:

I found that I needed 6" of extra fabric on each end to fold back. I started with three yards of fabric and retied one end until I felt comfortable. It will probably end up with a foot of fabric to cut off. I've hung it once and it seems to work fine. I made endless loops and whoopie slings from 1/8" Dyneema for the hammock and ridgeline. I used the endless loops to tie off to the fabric and attached the slings and ridgeline with little stainless steel shackles. If the weather ever improves, I'll try to get it hung and take some pictures.
