I had to look brindle up - I don't think I've ever heard the word.
    LOL

    Needed that chuckle, Silvr!

But IRON has a point. Tigers sneak up on prey easily enough -- their stripes are a play on light and shadow.

    What about leopard's spots or a fawn's?

Most camo seeks to make us look like bushes. It works. I've had deer almost in my lap.

But not a trophy buck -- they seem always far away and running away from me! ???

Yet, a man in Maine told me of sleeping in a camo poncho all night in a windfall, waiting for a large deer whose tracks he saw the previous day. He was a Vietnam vet and got his deer by learning how to hide.

I'm painting it winter camo this summer.
I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, make sure I stay here.

I wonder if there is a market for tarps or hammocks with outline break-ups.

Earth tones or camo of your choice with all horizontal lines broken by irregular edges.

    The ridgeline and bottom edges.
Wouldn't add much weight and would make a big difference.

Not sure which category or sub sub-section it would be, but it would work.

The natural camo from nature is amazing. The manmade, not so much.

Now, the question is, who or what are you hiding from? A lot of nature is colorblind and the jagged edges work best but smooth curving lines are not too natural.

    Or, here.

We, the camo people, are hiding from the bright color people.

Shhh---don't tell them we're here. There's more of us than they think there are.

Now, I recently purchased a kayak. I wanted a "angler" yak, with a high capacity payload. I have a VERY bad leg, from military service, and cannot do long hikes so bicycle and float camping are what is open to me. The only color options, in the model I settled on, were canary yellow and camo. I just could not abide "canary yellow" so I broke my rule on camo and now, my yak and everything with it is camouflage. Bah! It was forced on me however!
This earlier post brings up a good point: that the application or style of recreation determines wether hi-viz or concealment colors and patterns are best in hammocks, tarps, apparel and even kayak/canoe/vehicles etc. In some cases your GPS beacon device (about $100 +$10/month) should have a backup such as something hi-viz while out in the wilderness. A bright colored tarp, kayak is one method. As a kayak instructor i choose from a warehouse of over 50 boats; a bright boat while out on lakes/rivers with power boats but if i must be in bright sun for many hours it is best to paint the area in front with a darker color to reduce sun glare. "Camouflage" colors are better if your recreation involves wildlife viewing, especially if you want to see natural animal behavior, i.e. not baited animals. Some of the best "camouflage" does not vaguely resemble traditional military patterns which are designed to avoid human detection. Concealing your gear and boats etc from humans is another issue, having had my gear stolen by humans i clearly understand the need for that as well, but campsite selection and/or camping in groups helps.
As much as i like camouflage hammocks, i only own 2 of them, most of mine are brightly colored, hand woven cotton hammocks i bought while in Brazil. These attract fewer mosquitos at dawn and dusk. My Father almost died of two strains of malaria and my Brother-in-law suffered from Dengue Fever for many years so i use every layer of protection i can find against insects, anti-viral meds, netting, long sleeved apparel, and bright colored hammocks, (bug spray runs out and sweats off quickly, but great for starting a fire in a rain storm ;-))
