what fabrics do you suggest. as it will be my first foray into diy.

hi all i dont know if this is in the right section mods please move if ive put it in the wrong section.but here goes
i am planing to make an insul-bright uq as i have been give some insul-bright wadding aprox 2 meters.
i know it will need to be protected from damage so it needs some sort of covers making.
what fabrics do you suggest. as it will be my first foray into diy.
does it need to be breathable?
would ripstop nylon be good enough.
what sort of weight ripstop per square meter would be adequate.
    many thank

1.1 also called 30D Ripstop will work fine. Breathable or lightly DWR fabric. I believe most quilts are the lightly DWR variety.

The lightest ripstop you can find would work (no risk of losing feathers), and it should be breathable so it can loft up and collapse/compress.
