Grand Trunk Skeeter Beater Pro Hammock

I got an email from Austinkayak about a sale. They have a Grand Trunk Skeeter Beater Pro for $59.95, free shipping. It looks like a good product at a great price.

They where on steepandcheap the other day for 39.99 so I don't know if that is that great of a price. They should make an appearance there again.

It is a real nice well made hammock, it and the WBBB are the only two I switch between. All the rest I have get loaned out.

I have one and it works great. The shock cord setup for the bug net is a bit wonky, but it works. Switch out the suspension for whoopie slings and you'll be good to go.

    My Wife loves hers.

I originally installed whoopie slings on hers but when she seen strap/buckles on one of mine she had me change hers. We installed a structural ridgeline by sewing swatches of strapping to inside & outside on each end & burning a hole through for installation. You wind up with a little to much netting by doing this so I'll be cutting the netting down some or reinstall the shock cord.

She will not use any of my more expensive hammocks. She says they don't feel as good as hers. They are large but pack small. I bought a spare one in case She did not like any mods we did. Both were less than $50 each.

Have you had problems with the zipper running off the end of the teeth?

Been using my GT SB-Pro for five years now. Was my only hammock for three years, still my only with a bugnet. 60lb dog sleeps in there with me. Still going strong. Most stand alone bug nets cost $45 and up. Snagging a SB for $60 or less is a good deal in my book.

I like mine! Added a structural ridge line through the bug netting and made it even better!
