    UCR Continuous Loop?

I tried to search this so forgive me if it has been done but what about a continuous loop connected by a UCR. Would that not make a sweet adjustable loop that would theoretically double your line strength? Maybe some zing it suspensions? I know "Your gonna die!"

What do you mean? I'm struggling to visualize it..... UCR is one thing what's the use of the continuous loop? Why not a fixed eye?
UCR's don't double your length in practice they still do lengthen the maximum distance when compared to a whoopie though.

The line wouldn't be doubled at the connection point would it?

I'm saying a loop connected with a ucr. thus two lengths of line supporting the load. Think circle of line connected by a ucr type bury. you would need a whoopie hook or toggle on each end to connect to hammock and tree strap. I just made one from mason line and it held my body weight.

That's it! Use a long one in place of a Whoopie Sling and you could use lighter cord. Might be more bulky than regular UCR but have not done the weight calculations yet.

After seeing the one you made with masons line before our hike, I am interested in seeing more developments on this idea. But I don't have much skill at splicing small line.

I did some quick math and it looks like there is no savings over a whoopie in 7/64. I calculated using the numbers on Dutch's site and to make it work you would need some continuous loops and some whoopie hooks to attach it to the hammock which added up to 23.8 grams if I did it right versus 25.6 grams for a couple of whoopies. Maybe someone has a better idea out there. Fun to play with this stuff though.

For the record all my hammocks are sporting a single ring suspension but I'll keep fiddling.
