I have heard some have mounted hammocks successfully in vans, but have never heard of it in a car. Not sure it would be possible.
Keep movin', keep believing and enjoy the journey!

Sounds tough to me. It'd have to be an American as no one else buys cars that big.

My friend has a full size van, I know a thing of the past, that we load our dirt bikes for traveling instead of pulling a trailer. We have it set up to hang two hammocks, they hook into the structure above the rear doors and then in the structure behind the driver and passenger front doors. It works well for when we travel after work we will spend the night in the van and then throw our backpacks on and bike in 20 or 30 miles before leaving the bikes and hiking.

I have seen people hang a hammock in a jeep but it doesn't look very comfortable. What kind of car are you asking about?

I'm tempted to try a bridge in the back of my P/U using the box and tailgate as spreader poles. Don't see enough length in a car smaller than a minivan.
    YMMV

Old vw buses had an option for a kids hammock hanging over the front seats.

I have an Xterra but height wise I think you would be dragging or stiff as a board to hang in it. I will try this weekend and take pictures. It would be even less comfortable if you had any equipment in it.

Yeah, they called it that, but it was really just a tightly stretched piece of fabric suspended on rigid poles that ran lengthwise from one side window to the other.

Our `73 VW bus would be long enough to hang a proper hammock, but with all the camper pieces installed, I have no room. Oh well - camp inside or hang outside - at least I've got options.
